Summary

Being a Christian should be all about having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This—not our efforts at following the principles and mechanics of Christianity—is what gets results. Most people miss the whole point of salvation; when they get saved only to avoid going to hell, they miss out on the tremendous benefits of knowing God intimately. God is love, and He wants to express His intense love for us. Looking to Him and trusting in Him allows Him to do this. Jesus shed His blood so that we could have the right to share in fellowship with God. We now have the opportunity to commune directly with Him.
